Everyone’s seen them. Ads in the newspaper, or an email promising that you can make tons of money and get all kinds of free stuff as a mystery shopper. All you have to do is sign up with them and pay some kind of fee.
Let me be clear here… These aren’t mystery-shopping companies that you are signing up with. The majority of these kinds of sites are just job listings from company web sites and forums. Would you pay to search through the classifieds, or search sites like Monster, Career Builder, or Indeed? Legitimate Mystery Shop companies will never ask for money for you to register to see if you are eligible to shop for them.
In my next few posts I will give you some places to go, where you don’t have to pay a fee to get shops.
